This gun is designed to piercing armor made of aramid fibers.

The FN Five-seveN pistol is a highly lethal gun capable of piercing armor made of synthetic fibers at a close range.

Due to its growing use among criminals and because it easily pierces through vests, helmets, and cars armored with aramid fibers, this gun is referred to in Mexico and in the world as the cop killer.
